What to look for before buying
- Storage and RAM — 128 GB is today's reasonable minimum: between photos, WhatsApp and a couple of games it fills up sooner than you'd think, and many models no longer have a microSD slot. On RAM, 8 GB keeps the phone fluid for years; with 4 GB apps reload every time you switch between them.
- Screen: AMOLED vs. LCD — It's literally what you look at most. AMOLED has true blacks, more contrast and reads far better in sunlight; LCD washes out outdoors. Mid-range AMOLED exists now, so there's no reason to give it up. Also check the refresh rate: 120 Hz makes everything feel faster.
- Battery and charging — 5000 mAh is the standard and gives a long full day of normal use. What actually changes daily life is fast charging: 33 W or more means half a phone recovered in half an hour, versus three hours with an old 10 W charger.
- Camera: ignore the megapixels — The big number (50, 108, 200 MP) matters least. What makes a good photo is the main sensor, stabilisation and the brand's processing. A 50 MP Samsung or Xiaomi takes better pictures than a generic 108 MP phone, especially at night.
- Updates and 5G — Samsung and Motorola give more years of Android and security updates than lesser-known brands, and that decides how long the phone really lasts. 5G is still limited in Argentina: it's an investment in the future, not something you'll notice daily today.

Megapixels only give you more resolution to crop into. Look at the main sensor and the brand instead, and if you can, check real night photos before deciding.
