Why this site exists

If you have ever searched for “best washing machine” or “best laptop for work”, you probably ran into the same thing we did: dozens of pages with generic lists, products you can’t actually buy in the country, prices in dollars or two years out of date, and reviews that are clearly machine translations of a US site.

CompraGuide was built to fix that for the Argentine market. Three decisions shape everything we do:

1. Only products you can actually buy here. Everything we recommend is available on MercadoLibre Argentina right now, with real stock and shipping.
2. Prices verified daily. Every morning an automated process queries the MercadoLibre API and updates the price of every product in every guide. If a discount ended, we remove it. If the price went up, we show it more expensive. We don’t dress anything up.
3. We say what we don’t know. When a product has an inflated spec, we say so. When something isn’t verifiable, we say that too. It’s more useful to you and it’s the only thing that holds up over time.

Who we are

CompraGuide is a small, independent project built in Argentina. We are not owned by a retail chain, a manufacturer or a media group. We don’t get free products and we don’t take payment for appearing in a guide.

That means two things. The good one: nobody can buy a spot in a ranking. The honest one: we’re a small team, which is why our methodology rests on verifiable public data rather than a testing lab. We’d rather be upfront about that than pretend we test a hundred products a year.

How we make money

Through affiliate links. When you buy something through one of our links, MercadoLibre pays us a commission. It doesn’t cost you a cent extra: you pay exactly the same price you’d pay going in directly.

The important part: the commission does not influence the order of our recommendations. Every product in a guide uses the same kind of link. We have no incentive to push you toward the most expensive one — in fact, in most of our guides the “best overall” pick is not the priciest item on the list.

• We never invent a product, a price or a link. Everything comes from real data.
• We never write a review in exchange for money.
• If we get something wrong, we fix the guide.
• If a product we recommend goes out of stock or jumps in price, we replace it.
