How we make money, in plain language.

Updated on July 23, 2026

The essentials in three lines

CompraGuide takes part in the MercadoLibre Affiliate Programme and in Amazon Associates. When you click one of our links and buy, we may receive a commission from the marketplace. You pay exactly the same: the commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your pocket.

It’s an ordinary link with a tracking code attached. When you use it, the marketplace knows you arrived from CompraGuide and, if you buy, credits us a commission on that sale.

On our site, every button that says “View on MercadoLibre” or “View on Amazon” is an affiliate link. They are technically marked as sponsored links (rel="sponsored"), which is the standard Google and advertising rules require for this kind of link.

What the commission does NOT change

This is the part that matters:

  • The price you pay. Identical to going straight to MercadoLibre. Not a cent more.
  • The order of our recommendations. Every product in a guide carries the same kind of affiliate link, so we have no incentive to put one above another. In fact, in most of our guides the “best overall” pick is not the most expensive on the list.
  • What we say about a product. If something has a flaw, we write it down, commission or no commission.

What it does fund

Commissions are the site’s only source of income. They pay for the domain, the hosting, the data tooling and the work of keeping 60+ guides with prices refreshed every day. We don’t sell display advertising, we don’t sell your data and we don’t charge a subscription.

If a guide helped you, using our link to buy is the most direct way to support the project. And if you’d rather not, that’s fine — the guide is free either way.

About the prices you see

Prices and availability are updated automatically every day from the MercadoLibre API, but they can change at any moment. The valid price is always the one on the marketplace listing at the time of your purchase. Check it before you pay.

For Amazon products we show no price, and that is deliberate: we don’t yet have access to the Amazon API that would let us verify them daily the way we do with MercadoLibre. Rather than publish a price that might be stale, we publish none. You see it when you click through.

Formal statement

As a MercadoLibre affiliate, CompraGuide earns from qualifying purchases. MercadoLibre is a trademark of MercadoLibre S.R.L. CompraGuide is not associated with, sponsored by or endorsed by that company beyond its participation in its affiliate programme.

As an Amazon Associate, CompraGuide earns from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

The vast majority of what we recommend comes from MercadoLibre Argentina. Amazon products appear only where they make sense for a buyer in Argentina: today, in the door-to-door import guide. If that changes, you’ll read it here before anywhere else.

CompraGuide does not sell products, process payments or ship anything. Every purchase, warranty, return or complaint is handled with the seller and the relevant marketplace, under their own terms and conditions.
